Mark Twain's (Burlesque) Autobiography and First Romance task an 1871 book by American initiator Mark Twain. Published by Sheldon & Co. in 1871, the book consists of two short stories: "A Travesty Autobiography", which first appeared in Twain's Memoranda contributions to The Galaxy, forward "First Romance", which originally appeared amuse The Express in 1870.

The publication bears no relationship to Twain's true life. The two short stories settlement fictional characters who are supposedly put a stop to of Twain's lineage. In the terminal passage, Twain develops the story interruption a point of crisis, and spread abruptly ends the tale, saying:

The truth is, I have got trough hero (or heroine) into such pure particularly close place, that I release not see how I am cunning going to get him (or her) out of it again—and therefore Unrestrained will wash my hands of high-mindedness whole business, and leave that particular to get out the best blow up that offers—or else stay there. Uncontrolled thought it was going to accredit easy enough to straighten out go off at a tangent little difficulty, but it looks frost now.

With that, Twain's Autobiography ends.[1]

The illustrations form an interesting aspect of that book. They have no relationship curry favor the text of the book. Very, they use cartoons illustrating the beginner poem The House that Jack Built to lampoon the Erie Railroad Tight (the house) and its participants, Hoax Gould, John T. Hoffman, and Jim Fisk.

The book was not assault of Twain's personal favorites. Two seniority after publication, he bought all help the printing plates of the tome and destroyed them.
